When you compete in a ranked race, you gain "MXP", otherwise known as ELO. We use a customized ELO system that gives/takes points based on
where you are expected to finish in a race by comparing the MXP rating of other racers and their respective finishing position to how they were expected to finish.
We track your Global (overall) rating and your rating per event type such as MX, SX, and Enduro. Your rank may be used to determine
which events are available for you to join.
Bonuses given for track difficulty, podiums, race fast lap, personal best laps, and world record laps.
Bonuses given for number of riders in lobby and strength of field (SOF).
Full MXP percentage given with 8+ riders in a lobby.
Some events will give bonus % if indicated.
You can still finish poorly and recieve positive points. This happens when you were expected to finish where you did.
You can still finish near the top and recieve negative points. This happens when you were expected to finish better than you did.
If you quit a race, or are disqualfied, you will lose 10 MXP - consider this your entry fee. If you had the jump-start or Piboso Anticheat DSQ you will not be penalized MXP since these are buggy.
If your game crashed, sorry, we can't tell the difference between that and you exiting the game to avoid a bad finish.

Obsidian and Crimson ranks are set to Diamond 1
All other ranks are reduced 3 rank levels. For example, a P2 will be reset to G2
Rider Rating System

E
What is it?
Your rider rating is our best calculation of your riding behavior compared to other players. Your rider rating may restrict you from the events you can join and qualification for end of season events or prizes.
Your actions on track gain you "penalty points" based on the action. Your average penalty points per race, compared agaist the global
average, determines your Rider Rating. Below is a list of actions that gain you penalty points:
Track cuts = 0.5 points per cut incident.
Light contact = 0.5 points per contact.
Normal contact = 1.0 points per contact.
Race start contact = 0.2 points per contact.
Contact modifiers: 50% reduction for "clean race". SX races with more than 10 people get 50% reduction.
Notes: A "clean race" is when you have less then the global average of normal contacts (this is currently around 10 per race).
Light contact is any contact that is less than a certain impact velocity threshold. Race start contacts are those that happen
within a certain time after the race start. MXB starts are usually a crash fest so we don't want to penalize people during this period as much.
Your last 50 races are used to calculate your rider rating:
Most recent 20 races are calculated at 100%
Races 21 - 35 are calculated at 50%
Races 36 - 50 are calculated at 25%
So, if you've had poor races in the past, they will eventually drop out of the calculation entirely. Your most important are your most recent 20 results.
If you are a new player and don't have 50 races yet, we pad your results with a less than average penalty points up to the number of races you are missing
to make 50.
Contacts - It wasn't me!
MXB only reports the two riders that were involved in a contact and the impact velocity. It does not report who was reponsible.
We are still choosing to use this metric in the rider rating because looking at thousands of race results, clean riders have undoubtably had
a majority of races with less than or close to the average rate. Players with a poor rider rating have a clear pattern of getting lots of
track cuts and/or contacts.
How can you improve your rating?
If you want to improve your rider rating, you need to bring your average penalty points per race down.
Cut the track less
Contact other riders less
If you are a lapper observe the blue flags, hold your line, or move out of the main line and let the leaders pass.
Turn on the option for both 3D and 2D flags in-game so you will know when someone is lapping you.
If you are lapping someone, you are obviously faster than them. Try taking a different line instead of forcing your way around them in the same lines.
If you are D or E rating you can race in the "Untouchables" event which does not have contacts enabled.
Automated Suspension System
What is it?
We employ a variety of automated systems to penalize and eject players from races:
Excessive cuts: based on the average cuts on each track you can be ejected during or after a race if you have exceeded the cut threshold.
Ramming after a race is finished: If you finish the race and then have contact with another player that is still racing you will be suspended and excluded from the race results. Why do we have this?
Some people like to grief others when they have finished the race by riding backwards or blocking the finish line. This catches them. If you don't want to get suspended for this,
immediately return to pits when you have crossed the finish line because there is no way to tell who was at fault for even slight contact.
Excessive contacts: based on the number and type of contacts you have with other riders you may be DSQ from the race results and given a time suspsension.
How to Manually Report Someone
If you need to report someone for bad race behavior please do the following:
Open a support ticket in the Discord providing the information requested.
Your case will be better if you can provide video clips of the incidents you are reporting.
We recommend using Medal Tv (https://medal.tv/) to record clips as they happen which you can then use in your reports.

Why is a Steam account required?
The Steam account is used as the login for this site so that you can control your preferences. Your MXB GUID is determined from the Steam account.
What if I bought MX Bikes from the website and not Steam?
You will still need a Steam account to access the multiplayer system on this site. You can set your "Stand-Alone" GUID in the "My Account" page.
This will allow you to be whitelisted with your stand-alone GUID.
Why do I have to join a multiplayer lobby on this website in order to join the game server?
Almost all of the events hosted on this site allow for track voting and them the race servers are dynamically started.
You are whitelisted for the server when it starts allowing you to join. This also allows us to filter event lobbies based
on skill levels before you join the server.
It says I have a Suspension and can't join multiplayer on the site.
You may be given a timed suspension for behavior reported by other players or by automatic systems that are in place to identify certain actions you take.
You can join the multiplayer system again when your suspension expires.
It says I'm on the Blacklist when trying to join multiplayer.
The reason for you being on the blacklist is listed for you along with the expiration date. If you are on this list it is for a good reason and you won't
be able to join multiplayer or any other MyMXB hosted servers until the expiration date. If you want to contest this, join the Discord and use the #create-ticket channel.
